Schools are Communities and we need to be intentional in building them. We collaborate with stakeholders to deconstruct ‘a great community’ and then we co-create Community Principles and Practices. Our approaches turn the claim, "We are a learning community" into a living realiy.
The key components are:

THE LEARNING FAMILY
Radical re-engagement through 3-way Learning Modules.
In CGC, we are transforming the relationship between all learning stakeholders and between stakeholders and the learning process. When we design a Learning Module we provide 3 interconnected "versions". One is teacher-facing and is the teacher's primary planning tool. One is learner-facing and helps students understand what they will be learning and why, and how they will be assessed. One is parent-facing and helps parents understand what their children will be learning and why. It also provides the parents with the key vocabulary and with a set of sentence starters so they can have meaningful conversations with their children.
We also lead learning workshops for parents. These engaging experiential events give parents a personal feel for key elements in our ecosystem, such as our 3Cs Learning Definition. They also provide parents with opportunities to share what they really want for their children. Parents have conversations that are both simple and deep... and they also have a lot of fun.

THE COMMUNITY PRINCIPLES
Framing the quality of life at the school.
We offer Community workshops where learners, leaders, teachers, parents, board members and support staff come together to agree on a set of Community Principles and Practices. Just as the Learning Principles frame the quality of learning at the school, the Community Principles frame the quality of life at the school.

THE STORYTELLERS
How marketing, admissions, and communications tell the learning story.
These teams are vital to the school's success. We run workshops and provide tools for these important professionals to be able to tell learning stories about the school, that are simple, resonant and true.

THE GOVERNANCE
How good Governance focuses on learning first and also gets the business right.
Good Governance is vital for sustained success. We lead workshops that support Boards in all key aspects of Governance work from mission building to strategic planning.
